Addis Ababa, July 17, 2017 (FBC) – The Command Post established to oversee the implementation of the State of Emergency that came into effect last October hailed its nine-month performance as successful.
Following the implementation of the state of emergency, the country’s peace and security has been improving from day to day, Siraj Fegessa, Secretariat of the Command Post and Minister of Defense, said.
He was speaking at a meeting held with regional and pertinent bodies today to evaluate the nine-month performance report of the Command Post.
According to Siraj, the contribution of the community, security officials and all stakeholders were immense for the success gained in the reported period.
He further said works are underway to bring those responsible to justice.
When asked if the state of emergency will be extended, he said, “This will be decided by the relevant bodies,” he replied.
On March 30, the Ethiopian parliament extended by four months the state of emergency it declared on October, 2016.
