Addis Ababa, July 14, 2017 (FBC) – Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Workeneh Gebeyehu, participated at the “Global Coalition on the Defeat of ISIS” conference held yesterday in Washington D.C.
The Coalition’s consists of about 30 key Coalition stakeholders who play a major role, whether military or non-military, in the campaign to defeat ISIS.
During the conference, Dr Workeneh delivered a remark.
In a separate development, the Dr Workneh held successful discussion with John Sullivan, deputy Secretary of State on bilateral and regional issues.
Dr. Workneh said that the USA is a reliable economic and political partner with Ethiopia. He appreciated for the unreserved support of USA to the economic activities of Ethiopia.
He expressed his satisfaction of the coordinated effort of both countries in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
He called up on USA to work with Ethiopia in the stabilization of the Horn of Africa.
Sullivan for his part noted that Ethiopia’s high level participation in the already concluded Global Coalition for to counter IS is the manifestation of the close relations between Ethiopia and USA.
