Addis Ababa, December 15, 2015 (FBC) – The security problem that had occurred in some areas of north Gondar zone, Amhara Regional State, has been brought under control, Gedu Andargachew, Chief Administrator of the regional state said.
The state deeply regretted over the loss of life and property damages caused by the instability occurred in some kebeles (districts) in Metema and Chilga woredas of the zone, he said.
Following the joint efforts of security forces and the society, the situation is now under control, Gedu said.
The Chief Administrator commended the role of the public in the efforts to bring about the problem under control.
The government will take necessary measures on anti-peace forces who attempt to disrupt peace, he said, urging the residents also to safeguard peace in the region as usual.
