military plane lands in juba delivers supplies-to-south-sudan-army/

01, March 2017 (Nyamilepedia) — An Egyptian Military Cargo Plane has landed at Juba International Airport early on Wednesday raising speculations and suspicions of Egypt’s involvement in current South Sudan civil war.

Many are wondering what the large military Cargo plane delivered to the South Sudanese Army in Juba.

According to a source from South Sudan Defense ministry, the Egyptian military place delivered supplies for the South Sudan Army (SPLA).

According to sources the plane delivered 14,000 metric tonnes of medical supplies and food items to the country’s army which is currently locked in a brutal civil war with the country’s armed opposition groups.

The medical and food items are a donation from the Government of Egypt to the SPLArmy.

The plane was accompanied to South Sudan by Egypt’s Assistant Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Fadel Yaguob responsible for Sudan and South Sudan.

The Egyptian military plane was received by high ranking SPLA officials at Juba International Airport.

Egypt has been accused of delivering military supplies to the South Sudan government in return for support on Nile water issues, critics say Egyptian supply of weapons was counter-productive and was feeling the current civil war in South Sudan.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic last week, Sudanese President Omer Al Bashir accused Egypt of shipping military supplies including weapons and ammunitions to the South Sudan Army.

President Bashir said his country had intelligence which indicated Egyptian covert military support to Juba government of President Salva Kiir.

“We have intelligence that they supported the South Sudanese government, and continue to support the government with arms and ammunition,” President Bashir told Journalists while on route back from the United Arab Emirates.

South Sudan’s President Silva Kiir visited Egypt in January were they are believed to have signed an agreement to work together on various issues including security and the issue of the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam.

The two countries are said to have agreed on a “dirty deal” to work to sabotage Ethiopia’s building of the Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile by any means possible, according to officials from South Sudan, Egypt would support President Salva Kiir militarily, meanwhile Kirr’s government would be required to cooperate on various issues including training of Ethiopian rebels and diplomatic backing for Egypt in various international forums.

Egypt is said to be backing President Silva Kiir as a show of force to the Ethiopian government which Egypt believes was previously backing the South Sudan rebels.

Being put under intense pressure and threats from Egypt and South Sudan, Ethiopia has been forced to back down from it’s support and cooperate.

According to Egyptian media sources, the delivery of the military supplies to South Sudan was ordered by the Egyptian Minister of Defense Sedqi Sobhi and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Mr Ahmed Fadel Yaquob the Egyptian minister accompanying the Military Cargo plane said the delivered supplies was a donation and a good will gesture from the Egyptian government of President Al-Fatih Al Sisi to the people of South Sudan.
