Addis Ababa, November 7, 2016 (FBC) – The Libyan crisis and its developments will be at the centre of the meeting of the African Union High-Level Committee on Libya, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Tuesday, with a view to supporting the process for peaceful resolution of the crisis.
Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel will represent President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the meeting.
The meeting will be an opportunity to assess the regional and international efforts for the resolution of the crisis in the country.
Messahel will also represent the Head of State at the 2nd extraordinary Summit of the African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crises (ACIRC), which will be held in Addis Ababa on 9 November.
The Summit will examine the status of the ACIRC in accordance with the recommendations adopted at the 26th AU Summit.
The AU High-Level Committee’s meeting on Libya is part of meetings and international efforts for the resolution of the political and security crisis in Libya, like New York meeting on 21 September and Algiers meeting on 7 December.
Several countries that participated in the ninth ministerial meeting of Libya’s Neighbouring Countries will also partake in Addis Ababa’s meeting.
