Addis Ababa, June 1, 2016 (FBC) – The construction of two roads which links Adama-expressway with Addis Ababa in two directions has been completed, said the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA).
The 28.1 km Akaki-IT Park (Goro) and Akaki-Lebu asphalt concrete roads were built by China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) at a cost of 4.6 billion birr.
About 75 percent of the construction cost was covered by a loan secured from Exim Bank of China. The remaining cost was covered by the government of Ethiopia.
Six bridges, four interchanges and a railway crossing were built on the roads.
The roads were completed six months ahead of the schedule.
More than 3,000 jobs were created during the construction of the roads.
