Addis Ababa, April 20, 2016 (FBC) –The government of South Sudan said it will collaborate with Ethiopia to hunt those gunmen who killed innocent civilians in a cross border raid in Gambella regional state last Friday.
“The attack is unacceptable and inhuman. South Sudan deplores it,” Akuei Bona, Ambassador of South Sudan to Ethiopia, told ENA today.
“My country supports Ethiopia’s effort to free children abducted by the armed group,” he said.
These forces are also carrying out similar attacks and robbery on South Sudan and other tribe members, he added.
On behalf of his country, Ambassador Bona wished a quick recovery for families of the victims and the people of Ethiopia in general.
He said the two countries should work closely and exchange information exchange so as to prevent the recurrence of similar horrific incidents.
According to the ambassador, the two countries are working jointly to free the abducted children and the operation will continue until the end.
He further pointed out that the two countries are expected to do more to make the region peaceful and a hub for joint development.
