Addis Ababa, April 14, 2016 (FBC) –Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has called on Qatari investors to invest in Ethiopia.
The Premier held discussion here at his office today with a delegation led by Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, former Prime Minister of Qatar.
“Ethiopia wants Qatari investors to engage in a number of investment sectors. We have plenty and huge investment potentials,” Hailemariam told the delegation.
They could engage in light rail projects as well as in renewable energy and sugar development, the Premier said.
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani said his country’s private sectors are keen to take advantage of the investment potentials available in Ethiopia.
“My visit is to explore the investment potentials existed in Ethiopia,” he added.
The two countries also agreed to boost their investment relations, Ambassador Berhane Gebrekristos, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister with the rank of Minister, who attended the discussion, told ENA.
Moreover, they agreed to cooperate to make the horn of Africa region stable and favorable for investment, according to the Special Envoy.
