Addis Ababa, March 26, 2016 (FBC) – The Oromo People Democratic Organization (OPDO) has vowed to do its level best to boot the benefit of the public weeding out the root cause of rent-seeking and bad governance.
In a statement it issued in connection with its 26th anniversary celebrated today, OPDO said it would accelerate nation’s ongoing renaissance journey by eliminating the root cause of rent-seeking and good governance problems, which are the source of public grievances and complaints.
The Organization said it would exert efforts to wipe out these problems because they stunt the development of the public and are the danger for the regime.
OPDO is convinced that the problems that caused the recent conflicts were originated from the demand for development and were legitimate questions.
The Organization believes fully that it will address the problems with the active and total participation of the public, the statement said.
The problems are still a deterrent to growth and a major obstacle for development and peace, the Organization said, adding it is working to further enhance the benefit of the residents from development gains.
The Organization, in a statement it sent to FBC yesterday, also expressed it sympathy over the loss of life and damage to property due to the recent unnecessary and unexpected incident in the regional state.
The statement further indicated that the regional state is providing food assistance as well as rehabilitating people affected by the drought caused by climate change.
OPDO finally reaffirmed its commitment to do more than ever before to boost the benefit of the people and achieve its objective.
