Police search for identity of woman pulled from Passaic River

NEWARK, N.J. — New Jersey State Police and Newark Police are looking for anyone with information on the identity of a woman they pulled out of the Passaic River three years ago.

On April 22, 2013, the unidentified woman was removed from the Passaic River in Newark.

She was wearing thermal clothing, distinctive Ethiopian jewelry, police said.

One necklace had a chain link and black cross pendant. Three other necklaces had red, yellow and green ribbons with charms “reminiscent of Ethiopian crosses,” police said. She was also wearing metal earrings.

The woman had curly black hair, is 30-50 years old and was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed about 140 pounds.
