Addis Ababa, March 23, 2016 (FBC) – Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has held discussion with members of Joint Council of Political Parties here today.
The Premier on the occasion told the participants on government’s plan to reorganize the Council to foster free flow of ideas.
PM Hailemariam also gave answers and explanations for the main questions raised by the attendees.
Members of the Council asked for the improvement of articles on the amended electoral law, to have discussion time with the Premier and to visit performance of government’s mega projects.
They further asked the Premier to let them know before proclamations are endorsed, to revise party subsidies and to strengthen the Council.
The government won’t refrain from amending laws if needed, said the Premier while responding to the questions.
He further said conducive situations will be created for members of the Council to visit performance of government’s mega projects.
The Premier also pledged to meet with members of the Council twice a year and discuss on main national agenda.
The government will go up to showing alternative ways in addition to acquainting members of the Council with proclamations ahead of their approval, he said.
The Premier also pledged to revise party subsidies.
