PM Hailemariam invited to attend World Humanitarian Summit

Addis Ababa, March 23, 2016 (FBC) – Ahmet Davutoğlu, Prime Minister of Turkey, has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to attend the first-ever UN Sponsored World Humanitarian Summit to be held in Istanbul in May 2016.
Faith Ulusou, Ambassador of Turkey to Ethiopia, yesterday presented PM Davutoğlu’s letter inviting PM Hailemariam to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Dr Tedros Adhanom, where he also exchanged views on investment and other issues.

Noting the business environment in Ethiopia has been significantly improving, and now that the country is one of world’s favored investment destinations, Ambassador Ulusou expressed Turkey’s interest to sponsor a gathering of Turkish and African think thanks in Addis Ababa.

The Ambassador further expressed his country’s readiness to work with Ethiopia in the process of extending support to Somalia.

Dr. Tedros noted Turkish investment in Ethiopia has been on the rise with the constantly growing number of Turkish companies doing business in the country, which he said has contributions to the growth of Ethiopia’s Economy.

The proposed gathering of Turkish and African think thanks in Addis Ababa will help to strengthen the Turkey-Africa relations in general and the Ethio-Turkey ties in particular, he added.
