Addis Ababa, November 1, 2017 (FBC) – Police detained two members of the outlawed Ginbot 7 while they were planning to carry out a terror attack at various public spaces in the city of Bahir Dar, the capital of Amhara regional state.
According to a statement the Joint Anti-terrorism Task Force of the National Intelligence and Security Service and Federal Police sent FBC today, they were detained yesterday and today while planning to throw hand grenades on singer Amsal Mistakes traditional and cultural musical place as well as Baruk Bar and Restaurant, located at Kebele 14 in the city.
Police seized four hand grenades, the statement indicated.
The Taskforce blamed Eritrean government for coordinating the plan to spread the current instability in some parts of Oromia to Amhara regional state.
It finally extended its gratitude to the people of the Amhara regional state for exposing and handing over anti-peace elements to security force as well as urged them to strengthen their cooperation.
