Addis Ababa, September 19, 2017 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority (EBA) urged media outlets to refrain from propagating reports that could pose a threat to the federal system and incite conflict.
In a statement it sent to FBC today, the authority said most of public media are leaning towards spreading statements and reports that could pose a threat to the unity and create doubt among the people.
Media are not allowed to disseminate incorrect and unbalanced reports, the statement said.
Any media that violate the rule will be held accountable, it warned.
EBA finally urged the media to fulfill their duties and act responsibly in assisting efforts of the people and the government to maintain peace, bring development and build democracy.
