Addis Ababa, July 14, 2017 (FBC) – Seventeen political parties, including the ruling party- the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), have begun talks on agreed agendas.
The parties approved 12 agendas for their dialogue last month.
In their meeting held June 24, 2017, the parties agreed to talk on Electoral and Anti-terrorism laws, Mass Media and Freedom of Information Proclamation, Ethiopian Charities and Societies Proclamation as well as Tax Administration Proclamation.
Moreover, they agreed to discuss on Land Proclamation and payment of compensation, framework of democratic institutions and the judiciary system, freedom of movement and national consensus.
In today’s meeting, the parties have agreed to discuss each agenda in 5 days at a maximum, meet thrice a week and conclude negotiation in three months time.
