Ethio telecom earns over 15 bln birr in half-year

Addis Ababa, March 11, 2017 (FBC) – Ethio telecom, an integrated telecommunications solutions provider in Ethiopia, earned 15.64 billion birr in the first six months of this Ethiopia facial year, of which 11.91 billion birr is a gross profit.

The income earned in the first half-year increased by 18 percent compared to the same period the previous year, said the company in a statement sent to FBC today.

It also raised its clients to 52 million, of whom 51 million are mobile phone subscribers. The company is finalizing the expansion projects which it has been executing across the country to improve quality of service.

Ethio-telecom recently said the country loses more than 1.2 billion birr annually due to telecom fraud.
