Addis Ababa, December 27, 2016 (FBC) – The first phase of Mekelle industrial park, which is located in Tigray Regional State, is expected to be completed next February, according to the state trade and industry bureau.
The bureau held discussion yesterday with local investors who want to enter into the park. More than 150 local investors are expected to enter into Mekelle industrial park.
The government would provide the necessary support for investors who are keen to engage in manufacturing in the industrial park, said Dr Adisalem Balema, Deputy Chief Administrator of the State, at the discussion.
Ba’eher and Raya agro-processing industrial parks, which will be built in the state in the future, will create favorable condition and benefit those investors who want to engage in the sector, he added.
The construction of Ba’eher industrial park will be commenced next month and it will be finalized within a year, according to Dr Adisalem.
The Deputy Chief Administrator said the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) will provide loan for investors who want to enter into Mekelle industrial park.
Currently, the bureau is registering investors who want to enter into the park.
