Premier awards 140 innovators
Addis Ababa, November 19, 2016 (FBC) –Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has underscored the need to improve the use of technology so as to become competitive and victorious globally.

The Premier made the remark here today at an event organized to award innovators today.

He said the government will provide the necessary support for those who learn, import, adapt and innovate new technologies.

The construction of a school which enrolls outstanding secondary students will be launched soon, the Premier indicated.

Moreover, the government will offer support for the expansion of science and technology incubation centers across the country, he stated.

About 140 individuals and institutions were awarded at the Seventh Science and Technology Innovation day.

Of these, 35, 43, and 62 received gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively. Some 24 of the winners were females.
