China donates $1.2mln for AMISOM

Addis Ababa, November 29, 2016 (FBC) –China has provided a 1.2 million US dollars support for the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

AU Commissioner for Peace and Security, Ambassador Smail Chergui and Ambassador of the Chinese Mission to the AU, Kuang Weilin, signed the agreement for the provision of the stated amount yesterday.

It is to be recalled that China donated the same amount last year, in addition to several other donation in kind for AU troops in Somalia.
