Ethiopian institute, Canadian college agree to cooperate on HRD

Addis Ababa, October 25, 2016 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Catering and Tourism Training Institute has inked an agreement with Canadian College of the Rockies to cooperate on human resource development (HRD) sector.

The agreement was signed by Ashebir Tekle, Director General of Catering and Tourism Training Institute and Patricia Bowron, Executive Director of College of the Rockies.

The five-year agreement mainly focused on building capacity of teachers in the training institute.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Ashebir said the agreement helps produce competent manpower for Ethiopia’s growing hotel and tourism industry.

Bowron on her part said College of the Rockies is keen to work with Ethiopian educational institutions engaged in hotel and tourism sector.

Established in 1975, College of the Rockies provides training in business, trade and health, in addition to hotel and tourism sector.
