Addis Ababa, May 28, 2016 (FBC) –Leaders of various countries have extended their greetings and felicitations to the government and people of Ethiopia on their National Day on May 28, (Ginbot 20), which marks the downfall of Derg regime.
Among the leaders includes Emir of Kuwait, Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, First Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and President Pranab Mukherjee of India sent a congratulatory message to President Mulatu Teshome.
In his cable of congratulations, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wished President Mulatu constant good health and happiness and Ethiopian people steady progress and prosperity.
In a message to the President, Mukherjee said: “It gives me great pleasure to convey to you and to the people of Ethiopia, warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day.”
Mukherjee said India and Ethiopia share cordial bilateral ties marked by our enhanced engagement in areas of common interest, and hoped that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will further strengthen.
“I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes for your personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Ethiopia,” the president said.
President of UAE, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Emir of Kuwait, Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah dispatched a congratulatory cable to President Mulatu on the occasion of the National Day.
