Addis Ababa, March 7, 2016 (FBC) – The Central Committee of the Oromo People Democratic Organization (OPDO) has relieved two heads from their posts.
The Committee concluded its five-day conference after passing various decisions.
The two heads were relived from their post due to leadership failure, according to a statement issued by OPDO Central Committee.
Hence, Daba Debele, who had been an Executive Committee member of both OPDO and EPRDF as well as Head of the Organization’s Office, was relieved of his duty because of leadership problem.
However, Daba will remain as a member of the Central Committee of OPDO.
Similarly, Zelalem Jemaneh, who had been an Executive Committee member of both OPDO and EPRDF and Head of Natural Resource Bureau of Oromia Regional State, was fired from his post.
Zelalem was also banned from any organizational activities until the Organization’s next conference.
The Central Committee expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of human lives and property damages caused by the recent violence in the regional state.
The Committee also thanked the public for collaborating with security forces for the return of peace and stability in the regional state.
It also called on the residents to continue joining hands with security forces and safeguarding peace in their respective areas.
