Addis Ababa, February 8, 2016 (FBC) – State of the art stadium will be built in Harar town, Harari Regional State, with close to 1 billion birr so as to expand sport in the state and colorfully celebrate next year’s Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day.
The stadium with a capacity of 50,000 spectators will be built at a place commonly known as Diaspora village, Abdulaziz Mohammed, Sport Commissioner of the Regional State said.
The construction of the stadium will be launched this month, the Commissioner said.
“We planned to celebrate next year’s Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day in the stadium by completing 30 percent of works on it within ten months,” he said
The construction of the stadium will create jobs and technology transfer for youth organized in micro and small enterprises, he said.
The stadium will enable Harar to host national and international sport events.
