Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed on Monday the latest developments in relation to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam with the ministers of defence and irrigation, and the head of the General Intelligence service.
According to a statement issued by the presidency on Monday evening, Ethiopia has invited Egypt and Sudan to send technical delegations to visit the site of the under-construction dam.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said in the statement that a media delegation from Egypt would also participate in the visit.
Egypt has voiced concerns that the dam on the Blue Nile will affect its water share. Ethiopia has maintained its position that the dam, expected to be finished and operating in 2017, won’t harm the two downstream countries of Egypt and Sudan.
President El-Sisi also discussed in his meeting development projects in Sinai, especially a number of agricultural reclamation projects which will be inaugurated soon.source
