Addis Ababa, December 22, 2016 (FBC) – Peace had returned in most of the areas affected by the recent disturbance occurred in some parts of the Oromia regional state. But what is next? FBC asked law and political science scholars what the role of the government and the public should be after this.
“Peace is a basic element, not a luxury for Ethiopia,” said Nahusenay Belay, a lecturer of Federalism at the Institute of Federal Studies in Addis Ababa University.
Though the loss of life and property damages caused by the disturbance masterminded by anti peace- forces is regrettable, the Oromo people are right to ask their questions peacefully, he said. However, Nahusenay said, the way the questions were presented in some parts was not proper.Read more
