Mekelle city and Witten, Germany signed a sister city partnership

(December 10, 2015, Alphanegari). Mekelle city and Witten, Germany has signed a sister city agreement on December 9, 2015. The ceremony was held in Witten,Germany in the presence of the new Mekelle Mayor, His excellency Mr. Daniel Assefa , Honorable Mayor Mrs. Sonja Leidemann for Witten city, Excellency Dr. Ahmedin Idris, Ethiopia- Witten association, Deputy Chairman, Mr. Misgna Teklu consular for public diplomacy at the Ethiopian consulate general at Frankfurt, Germany and Mr. Salomon Assefa TDA, German Branch chair man . On his speech, Mayor of Mekelle, Mr. Daniel, appreciated all parties who made a great effort for the invitation, the ceremony and the opportunity with honor. He added, this partnership should further create a platform to strength people to people relationship, investment, tourism, education and technology among the citizen of Witten city, Germany and Ethiopia.
