Seven people, including former Gambella chief, sentenced up to 9 years in prison

Addis Ababa, April 27, 2016 (FBC) – The Federal High Court 19th Criminal Bench today sentenced seven people, including former chief administrator of Gambella regional state, convicted of terrorism offences to up to nine years in prison.
The defendants are David Ujulu, Uchan Opey, Uman Ngkiyew, Ujulu Cham, Ataka Uwar and Ubang Umed, including former chief administrator of Gambella, Okelo Okain.

Hence, first and second defendants, Okelo Okain and David Ujulu were sentenced to nine years in prison.

The remaining defendants were sentenced each to seven years rigorous imprisonment.

The Court passed a guilty verdict on the defendants on April 6, 2016.
